Brent Johnson was born and raised in rural Kansas. He has worked off and on as a freelance journalist, novelist, line cook, warehouse worker, bartender, talent buyer, kindergarten teacher and English editor for Heritage magazine in Hanoi, Vietnam. He now lives in Iowa City, Iowa.
