Suzanne Buffam

Suzanne Buffam is the author of two collections of poetry. Her first book, Past Imperfect, won the 2006 Gerald Lampert Memorial Award for best first collection published in Canada, and her second book, The Irrationalist, was a finalist for the 2011 Griffin Prize. Her work has appeared in numerous journals and magazines, including American Poetry Review, Boston Review, jubilat, and Poetry, and has been translated into French, German, Spanish, and Slovenian. She has received fellowships and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Canada Council for the Arts, and the Jeanette Haien Ballard Writers' Trust.  Born and raised in Canada, she is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and currently lives in Chicago.
