ALT kicks off with an all-star panel discussion called Digitized: The Evolution of Music in the Age of Connection, focusing on the evolution of technology and its increasing impact on the ways in which music is now created, distributed, and discovered. Whether you’re an artist building a fanbase, a blogger looking to stand out from the crowd, or a label or manager wanting to harness the power of technology to help break bands, it’s an opportunity to learn from leaders how to embrace the changes that are taking place every day. Panelists will also share their perspectives on how music technology will continue to evolve, and why the best is yet to come. The discussion will be moderated by Andy Zax, American music historian and producer, and will feature the expertise of Megan West from SoundCloud, Jessica Johnson from Downtown Records, and Sean Moeller from Daytrotter.
